Five core services that keep Jamaica's public finances — and its people — moving forward.
Pension Administration
The AGD's Pensions Division processes and disburses monthly pension payments for over 40,000 retired government employees and their eligible dependants. Services include:
- Monthly pension disbursements via direct bank transfer
- Processing of new pension applications through Ministry/Department HR offices
- Annual Life Certificate collection and verification
- Computation and payment of gratuities
- Alimentary Allowance for pensioners awaiting first payment
- Pension reviews and adjustments following salary reclassification
Public Loans
The AGD administers seven affordable loan products for permanent Government of Jamaica employees at a maximum interest rate of 3%. Loan types include:
- Housing Loan
- Motor Vehicle Loan
- Personal Loan
- Computer Loan
- Education Loan
- Medical Loan
- Compassionate Loan
Applications are submitted through your Ministry or Department's HR office.
Consolidated Fund Management
The AGD manages Jamaica's principal public finance instrument — the Consolidated Fund — responsible for collecting, safeguarding, and disbursing all government revenue in accordance with the Financial Administration and Audit (FAA) Act.
- Receipt and custody of all government revenues
- Disbursement of approved Parliamentary allocations
- Maintenance of the Government's central bank account
- Cash flow management and liquidity planning
- Public debt record maintenance
Treasury Deposits
The AGD receives and accounts for special funds established by law on behalf of statutory bodies and government-controlled entities.
- Custody of special legislative funds
- Investment of surplus government cash balances
- Management of government deposit accounts
- Reporting on treasury investment portfolios
Public Salaries & Payroll
The AGD processes and disburses payroll accurately and on time for 17 Ministries and Departments across the Government of Jamaica.
- Monthly salary disbursement for central government employees
- Statutory deductions (income tax, NIS, NHT)
- Payroll reconciliation and reporting
- Salary advances and adjustments
- Issuing payslips and employment income certificates
