Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions from pensioners.

A Life Certificate (also called a Proof of Life document) is an official document confirming that you are alive and eligible to continue receiving your government pension. It must be submitted once per year. You can submit it online through the MyPensions+ portal, or in person at any of our annual Mobile Drives held in all 14 parishes.
Government pensions are paid on the last working day of each month. If that day falls on a weekend or public holiday, payment will be made on the preceding working day. Payment schedules for the full year are published in the Notices section of this website.
To update your bank account details, visit the Pensions Division at 21 Dominica Drive, Kingston 5, in person, with: (1) a valid government-issued photo ID, and (2) a recent bank statement or a letter from your bank showing your account number. For security reasons, bank detail changes cannot be processed by phone or email.
If your Life Certificate is not received by the deadline, your pension payment may be suspended until your certificate is received and processed. If you have missed the deadline, contact the Pensions Division immediately at (876) 922-0000 or email pensions@treasury.gov.jm to discuss alternative submission arrangements.
Contact the Pensions Division directly: Phone: (876) 922-0000 | Email: pensions@treasury.gov.jm | Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm. Please have your Pension ID number ready when you call. You can also use the Contact form on this website and select "Pension Enquiry" as the subject.
